iciHaiti - Infrastructure : 86 beneficiaries trained for the implementation of 5 projects in Baie de Henne

As part of the Safety Nets Strengthening Program for Vulnerable Populations (HA-J0005), funded by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), the Economic and Social Assistance Fund (FAES) recently launched a series of technical training sessions in Baie de Henne for 86 beneficiaries (48 men and 38 women) who will participate in five projects in the region.

Under the expert guidance of CARE, an organization specializing in community interventions, the participants will learn various skills that will enable them to contribute to crucial infrastructure projects.

Initially, they will be carrying out the concrete work on 110.2 linear meters of road in Cité Wallace and the construction of 130 linear meters of fencing for the Baie de Henne police station. For these two projects, 9 men and 6 women will be employed in Cité Wallace, while 14 men and 7 women will work at the police station site.

In a second phase, 30 beneficiaries, including 10 men and 8 women, will be involved in the construction of 160 m³ of gabions in the La Coupe ravine.

Concurrently, 4 men and 8 women will participate in the concreting of 55 linear meters of road and the installation of 5 streetlights at the entrance to the playground in Hâte de Lice.

Finally, in the third phase, 20 beneficiaries, including 11 men and 9 women, will be involved in the rehabilitation of a water point that supplies the Panaceco area. These initiatives aim not only to strengthen local infrastructure but also to improve the living conditions of vulnerable populations through job creation and skills development.
