iciHaiti - Cap-Haitien Carnival : Prohibitions

The Municipality of Cap-Haitien, in conjunction with the Haitian National Police (PNH), informs the public that, in order to guarantee the safety of carnival-goers and residents, and the smooth running of the Carnival festivities, parking and driving any motor vehicle are strictly prohibited along the entire official parade route.

For the three days of Carnival, the affected route is as follows:

APN – Rue 18 A – Rue 5 A – Rue 2 A – Rue 2 L – Rue 18 L – Rue 18 H – Rue 20 H – Rue 20 B – Rue 24 B – Rue 24 A – 24 Boulevard.

This regulation is in effect from 12:00 PM to 3:00 AM during the three days of Carnival (Sunday the 15th, Monday the 16th, and Tuesday the 17th).

Anyone violating this regulation will be subject to the penalties stipulated by current regulations, including impoundment or removal of the vehicle at the owner's expense.

The Cap-Haïtien Municipal Administration and the Haitian National Police (PNH) are counting on everyone's cooperation to ensure a safe, orderly, and festive carnival, under the theme: "Konbit pou yon lòt Okap" (Working for another Cap-Haïtien).

Yesterday, Sunday, the artistic parade took place at 1 p.m. along the following route: Grand Prison, Rue 21 - Rue 20 L - 20 H - 20F - 20A - 18A - 2A - 2L - 18L - 6 p.m. - 8 p.m.

The performance by the groups RAM and Klozz & Bèl Kalkil took place at 5 p.m., along the following route: APN - 18A - 5A - 2A - 2L - 18L - 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. - 20B - 24B - 24A - 24 Boulevard
