iciHaiti - Politic : PM calls for increased support for the defense forces
On the sidelines of the 50th Ordinary Session of the Conference of Heads of State and Government of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM), held in Saint Kitts and Nevis, Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé held a bilateral meeting with Andrew Holness, Prime Minister of Jamaica.

The discussions reaffirmed the two governments' commitment to strengthening their strategic partnership, particularly in the face of the security challenges affecting Haiti and the wider region.

Fils-Aimé advocated for increased support to consolidate the operational capacities of the Armed Forces of Haiti (FAd'H) and the Haitian National Police (PNH), as well as coordinated support for the deployment of the Gang Supression Force (GSF).

On the political front, the Haitian Prime Minister reiterated his commitment to organizing credible and inclusive general elections as soon as possible. In this regard, his Jamaican counterpart congratulated him on the conclusion of the Pact to Rebuild National Stability and Guarantee Credible Elections in Haiti, praising an agreement widely supported by the political class and civil society, and considered a major milestone toward the country's institutional stabilization.

Discussions also focused on prospects for economic recovery, particularly through the development hubs of the North and South, as well as on strengthening Caribbean economic integration.
