His career has followed a coherent trajectory, marked by academic rigor, government experience, and a constant involvement in major contemporary climate issues.

Holding a master's degree in project management from Salford University in the United Kingdom, he has progressively focused his expertise on environmental and climate public policy. Early on, he understood that Haiti's environmental challenges could not be addressed without institutional structuring, innovative financial mechanisms, and the integration of international commitments.

Over the years, he has held strategic positions within the Haitian government. As a special advisor to several Prime Ministers and Ministers of the Environment, he participated in the development, monitoring, and coordination of priority issues in the sector. He notably contributed to mobilizing international funding and representing Haiti at major global climate conferences, from Madrid to Glasgow, including Sharm el-Sheikh and Dubai.

His work reflects a commitment to continuity. In 2024, he assumed the role of coordinator for the Office of the National Designated Authority for the Carbon Credit and Clean Development Mechanism. In this strategic role, he is working to integrate Haiti into the new carbon market mechanisms linked to the Paris Agreement, while also overseeing the CBIT-Haiti project. His approach emphasizes transparency, international compliance, and institutional credibility.

Prior to this, he was the Program Manager for the Global Climate Change Alliance Plus, funded by the European Union. This experience allows him to manage complex technical and financial operations, while strengthening inter-institutional cooperation within the government.

But Valéry Fils-Aimé's career is not limited to public administration. In 2018, he co-founded Haiti Climat, the first Haitian multimedia platform entirely dedicated to environmental and climate issues. Through this initiative, he champions the idea that the ecological transition also depends on information, education, and citizen engagement.

As Vice-President of the Board of Directors of CARIDIMA, a regional non-profit platform initiated by UNESCO, he also works to strengthen the capacities of young Caribbean professionals committed to environmental risk reduction and resilience.

His profile combines technical expertise, institutional experience, and a commitment to youth. A recipient of scholarships from prestigious international programs and trained in carbon market management, he embodies a generation connected to international dynamics while remaining grounded in Haitian realities. Valéry Fils-Aimé's career demonstrates a consistent commitment to structuring, modernizing, and enhancing the credibility of national environmental action.
