iciHaiti - ONA : Optimizing revenue and strengthening contribution monitoring

Ronald Bazile, the Director General of the National Old-Age Insurance Office (ONA), held an important and strategic meeting with the heads of the Operations and Networks Directorate (DOR) at the institution's headquarters.

The main objective of this meeting was to assess the progress of several priority issues, including ONA's revenue and contribution levels. Discussions also focused on the performance of regional offices and identifying those that are meeting their targets.

The DOR, responsible for overseeing all operations in all ONA offices across the country, was urged to increase its vigilance, particularly at the Cap-Haitien office. Indeed, many businesses are relocating from the capital to the North, notably Cap-Haitien, or to the South, which necessitates closer monitoring.

Aware of the challenging economic climate, marked by the closure of numerous businesses, ONA intends to adapt its strategies. It was emphasized that the Operations and Networks Directorate must find mechanisms to prevent businesses from closing down with outstanding payments to the institution.

The meeting also allowed for the development of strategies to enable the National Old Age Insurance Office (ONA) to increase its revenue. Among the priorities are identifying businesses with payment arrears and implementing measures to compel them to settle their debts.

Furthermore, the Director General requested a nationwide business census to determine the number of businesses in each department. This initiative should allow for a better understanding of the DOR's needs and the identification of the necessary resources to address them effectively.
