In Haiti more than 200 families relieved thanks to a Red Cross intervention 14/03/2026 10:59:17
More than 200 families have been relieved thanks to the intervention of a team of volunteers and technicians from the Haitian Red Cross (HRC) mobilized at the "Metropolitain" internally displaced persons (IDPs) site in Port-au-Prince. They repaired the roof of the site's shelter, which houses 204 families. This work addressed a crucial need for these families, who were constantly exposed to rainwater due to the damaged roof of the shelter, which serves as their dormitory. Note that "Metropolitain" is one of a dozen IDP sites in the Port-au-Prince metropolitan area where the HRC is conducting humanitarian response operations, including the distribution of water and hygiene kits, and the installation of water tanks and streetlights. These actions are part of the HRC's ongoing efforts to improve the living conditions of displaced persons. IH/ iciHaiti
