On Friday, March 13, 2026, on the instructions of Prime Minister Fils-Aimé, Engineer Joseph Almathe Pierre Louis, Minister of Public Works, undertook a mission to the Far North.

As part of this mission, Minister Pierre Louis participated in a technical meeting at the Northeast Departmental Office, alongside Sharina Lochard, Secretary of State for Local Authorities.

On this occasion, the Minister encouraged local government officials to strengthen their collaboration with central authorities and state technical staff to promote the harmonious and sustainable development of municipalities.

Furthermore, he announced the imminent development of a joint action plan with departmental delegates and municipal magistrates. This plan will aim to identify the most efficient strategies for rehabilitating and developing the local road network, taking into account current budgetary constraints.

The Minister also called for collective synergy in service of the population's well-being. True to the commitment he made upon taking office, he reminded the technical and administrative staff that "public responsibility is a sacred mission in service to the Nation."
