iciHaiti - Training : Home Water Conservation and Treatment 17/03/2026 10:03:19
The National Institute of Water Resources (INARHY) of the Ministry of the Environment organized two days of training at the Henry Christophe Campus in Limonade as part of the initiative to promote Water Conservation and Treatment at Home (CTED). This activity aimed to strengthen the knowledge of community leaders and students on issues related to water quality, safe water management at the household level, and best practices for preventing waterborne diseases. In total, nearly 180 students and leaders, primarily from Limonade and Quartier Morin, participated in these training sessions, which focused on waterborne diseases and their health, environmental, social, demographic, and economic impacts. Participants were made aware of, among other things, the main risks associated with consuming contaminated water and practices that contribute to the spread of these diseases. The discussions also introduced the concept of CTED as a strategy for health prevention and resilience to the effects of climate change. Several water treatment methods were presented, including chlorination, filtration, and best practices for safe storage. IH/ iciHaiti
