A joint operation conducted by the Saint-Marc Departmental Unit for Maintaining Order (UDMO) and the Vehicle Theft Suppression Brigade (BLVV) resulted in the seizure of 74.7 kilograms of dried straw resembling marijuana. The operation took place in Morne Fort, a locality also known as Morne Juge Max, in the commune of Saint-Marc, at the home of Gérald Phileus.

The illicit substance was discovered carefully concealed, firstly in a white bag inside the suspect's residence, and secondly in a vehicle belonging to him. However, the suspect took advantage of the police intervention and managed to escape.

In accordance with legal procedure, the presiding magistrate of the Saint-Marc Magistrate's Court, Mr. Fadel's Filius Michel, assisted by his clerk, Me Wilson Michaud, was summoned to the scene. After duly assessing the situation, the judge officially handed over the narcotics and the seized vehicle to the head of the Anti-Narcotics Trafficking Bureau (BLTS) team for further legal proceedings.
