iciHaiti - Les Cayes : Follow-up on the plane incident at Antoine-Simon Airport

Following the announcement of the deployment of a delegation to Les Cayes (https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-47112-haiti-flash-plane-goes-off-runway-at-antoine-simon-airport-in-les-cayes.html), the National Civil Aviation Office (OFNAC) confirms that a large official mission is currently working at the site of the incident, following instructions from the Minister of Public Works and in close coordination with the Director General of the National Airport Authority (AAN).

This delegation is led by the Director General of OFNAC, accompanied by representatives of the National Airport Authority (AAN), as well as specialized technicians from the airline IBC, who arrived from Miami.

This joint mobilization is part of the ongoing technical investigation, conducted in accordance with applicable standards, and the operations to relocate the immobilized aircraft, whose position is obstructing traffic on National Route 7 adjacent to the airport.

OFNAC reports that "[...] Reports from the entire crew have been collected, in accordance with regulatory requirements for aeronautical investigations; the investigation process is fully underway and proceeding normally; the technical operations to recover the aircraft have been successfully completed, and the relocation work is continuing in a coordinated manner [...]"

The Haitian government is fully mobilized through several institutions, demonstrating a concerted and responsible approach to the situation. Haitian National Television is providing coverage of the event, contributing to informing the public with complete transparency.

OFNAC commends the effective coordination of state institutions and the commitment of the technical teams mobilized on the ground. This synergy ensures both the safety of operations, the diligent management of the incident, and the gradual restoration of traffic and activities.
