On Thursday, March 26, 2026, following efforts initiated by Prime Minister Fils-Aimé with American partners and donors, the Ministry of Public Health, in collaboration with the Office of Occupational Accident, Illness, and Maternity Insurance (OFATMA), received a significant donation of medical equipment from the United States.

This equipment, donated by American Scott Martin, includes two dialysis machines intended to strengthen the capacity of the OFATMA Hospital in Les Cayes (South Department), where the need for specialized care remains particularly critical.

Vikerson Garnier, Director General of OFATMA, led a delegation to Les Cayes to officially receive the equipment. "These dialysis machines represent a significant strengthening of our capacity to provide care in the South Department. OFATMA is committed to putting them into service as soon as possible for the benefit of patients who need them," stated Vikerson Garnier.
