Arrest by the Haitian Police of a Zimbabwean wanted since 2019

On Thursday, March 26, 2026, agents from the special units of the Central Directorate of the Judicial Police (DCPJ), including the Research and Intervention Brigade (BRI) and the Juvenile Protection Brigade (BPM), acting on an arrest warrant issued by Investigating Judge Noé Pierre-Louis Massillon of the Port-au-Prince Court of Appeal, apprehended Vundla Sikhumbuzo, a Zimbabwean national who had been actively sought since 2019.

The individual was the subject of an investigation into serious offenses, including the illegal trafficking of firearms (in the so-called Episcopal Church case). https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-40654-haiti-episcopal-church-the-investigating-judge-issued-his-order-in-the-arms-and-ammunition-trafficking-case.html), the attempted murder of his wife, and criminal conspiracy.

In addition to these charges, Vundla Sikhumbuzo had also held his three minor children captive, forcing them to abandon their schooling in 2019.

Brought before the competent judicial authorities, the fugitive will now answer for his actions before the law.
