Foreign Minister Raina Forbin received Brazilian Ambassador to Haiti Luís Guilherme Nascentes da Silva this week.

The discussions reaffirmed the strength of the bilateral partnership between Haiti and Brazil, as well as their shared commitment to strengthening it in priority areas such as security, vocational training, cultural cooperation, and economic exchange. They also explored new opportunities for cooperation, particularly in the agriculture and reforestation sectors.

Minister Forbin commended Brazil's ongoing support for security in Haiti, especially in training and capacity building for the Haitian National Police (PNH).

The Brazilian Ambassador reiterated his country's commitment to contributing to the strengthening of the Haitian Armed Forces (FAd'H) and the capacity building of the Engineering Corps, notably through the deployment of Brazilian trainers to Haiti.

Minister Raina Forbin emphasized the Haitian government's commitment to strengthening its cooperation with Brazilian authorities to promote safer and more orderly migration. She also outlined the monitoring efforts underway, in coordination with relevant national institutions, to ensure more effective and better-regulated management of migration flows.
