A mission from the Consulate General of Haiti in Miami recently traveled to San Antonio and El Paso, Texas, to meet with approximately sixty Haitian nationals detained in various immigration detention centers.

The delegation, led by Consul General Yverick Delerme Cyril, and accompanied by Consul Urielle Z. Jean-François and Ms. Barbara Ducasse Réau, an official with the Ministry of the Interior, assessed the detention conditions, monitored immigration cases, and ensured these nationals' access to their fundamental rights.

The Consulate also identified urgent needs for legal, medical, and social assistance and took immediate steps with local authorities to facilitate communication and guarantee the protection of our citizens.

The Consulate of Haiti in Miami reaffirms that no Haitian citizen will be left without assistance, and that wherever a Haitian may be, the Republic remains present to safeguard their rights and dignity.
