UTAG deployed to Seguin as reinforcements after the terrorist attack
Officers from the Anti-Gang Tactical Unit (UTAG) of the Haitian National Police (PNH) have been deployed as reinforcements to Seguin, a communal section of Marigot, in the Southeast. This deployment follows the terrorist attack perpetrated in Seguin on the night of April 13-14, 2026, against members of the local population (https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-47304-zapping-haiti-of-april-15-2026.html). The current provisional death toll indicates at least 8 civilians.
The UTAG officers were received at the Jacmel Police Station by Divisional Commissioner Magalie Belneau, Departmental Director of Police for the Southeast, before being deployed to Seguin. Their mission is to reinforce the officers of the Departmental Unit for Maintaining Order (UDMO) in order to track down terrorists and restore order and security in Seguin.
