PNH : Official inauguration of a new building at the Southern Departmental Directorate

The Haitian National Police (PNH) officially inaugurated a new building and several renovated offices at the Southern Departmental Directorate (DDS) in Les Cayes. The work was carried out by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), with funding from the Embassy of Canada.

The ceremony, held in the presence of local, judicial, and police authorities, as well as partners, marks a significant step forward in strengthening the PNH's capacity. Fully furnished and equipped, these facilities will improve working conditions for officers and the quality of services offered to the public, particularly within the Gender-Based Violence (GBV) Unit, the Southern Departmental Judicial Police Service (SDPJ-Sud), and the Juvenile Protection Brigade (BPM).

In his address, Divisional Commissioner Allan Serge Jolicœur, Director of the Southern Departmental Directorate, praised this initiative, which strengthens police action in the department. Oumar Diallo, Senior Technical Advisor for the UNDP's Basket Fund program, reaffirmed his institution's commitment, while Inspector General Mario Aubergiste, Chief of Staff to the Commander-in-Chief of the Haitian National Police (PNH), thanked the UNDP and the Canadian Embassy for their support.

The ceremony concluded with the symbolic cutting of the ribbon, followed by a guided tour of the facilities and a social gathering.

Through this initiative, the PNH reaffirms its commitment to continuing its efforts to modernize and strengthen its institutions in service of public safety.
