Minister of National Education Vijonet Déméro participated this week, via videoconference, in the 62nd Meeting of Coordinators of the Latin American Laboratory for the Evaluation of the Quality of Education (LLECE).

The Minister confirmed Haiti's membership in this institution and its integration into the 2030 Regional Comparative and Explanatory Study (ERCE).

According to Vijonet Déméro, this dual decision reflects not only a strong commitment to the quality, equity, and modernization of the Haitian education system, but also a major strategic step forward that will allow to :

• Strengthen the national learning assessment system;

• Access reliable data at the regional level;

• Improve the quality of assessment tools;

• Support evidence-based education policies;

• Strengthen national capacities through the Permanent Evaluation Center.

During this videoconference, Minister Déméro thanked the UNESCO Regional Office in Santiago, Chile, and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) for their technical and financial support.
