On Thursday, April 16, 2026, as part of efforts to strengthen and revitalize Haitian-Brazilian cooperation in youth and sports, Pythagore Dumas, Minister of Youth, Sports, and Civic Action (MJSAC), met with the Brazilian Ambassador to Haiti, Luis Guilherme D. Silva, at the Embassy in Pétion-Ville.

This meeting aligns with the Government's vision of providing new opportunities for Haitian youth.

The discussions between the two men allowed them to review the current state of bilateral cooperation and identify concrete avenues for intervention in youth and sports. The Ambassador reiterated Brazil's commitment to Haiti since the 2010 earthquake, particularly through the establishment of healthcare infrastructure and vocational training centers, with the participation of organizations such as Viva Rio and the Brazil-Haiti Cultural Center.

At the heart of the discussions, a new strategic vision was defined, positioning football as a lever for youth development, in line with national priorities for mentoring, integrating, and promoting young talent.

Minister Dumas intends to continue technical discussions with Brazilian authorities to ensure the implementation of structuring projects for the benefit of Haitian youth, with a view to sustainable recovery and strengthening bilateral cooperation.
