Saturday April 25, 2026, as Kenya's mission in Haiti ends, an official ceremony was held at the General Directorate of the National Police of Haiti (PNH), in the presence of Me Patrick Pélissier, Minister of Justice and Public Security, Mario Andrésol Minister of Defense, the Acting Commander-in-Chief of the PNH, Vladimir Paraison, members of the High Command, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Haiti (FAd’H), Lieutenant-General Derby Guerrier, as well as police officers from different units.

This activity aimed to thank the Multinational Security Support Mission (MMSS) in Haiti as well as its Commander, General Godfrey Otunge, after two years of presence in Haiti. It was also an opportunity for the Haitian authorities to express their gratitude to this mission for its support for security operations carried out alongside the PNH in the fight against terrorist gangs.

The Gang Suppression Force (GSF) paid tribute to Commander Godfrey Otunge, and to the Kenyan forces who served in Haiti with courage and unfailing dedication, often in extremely difficult conditions.

When Haiti needed support most, Kenya stepped up. This commitment to Peace and service beyond borders leaves a lasting legacy.
