Jacmel : Agro-Gastronomic and Craft Fair (May 1st - 2nd)

As part of the celebration of Agriculture and Labor Day, the Southeast Departmental Directorate of Agriculture (DDASE) and the Jacmel City Hall are organizing an Agro-Gastronomic and Artisanal Fair on May 1st and 2nd, 2026, to promote national production under the theme "Let's support local production for more food, more wealth, and more security."

These two days will be particularly rich in discoveries, during which Haitian agricultural products and crafts will be showcased and celebrated in all their diversity.

Numerous exhibitors from all the municipalities of the department, as well as from other regions of the country, along with professionals from the agricultural sector and participating institutions, will be present to allow visitors to discover the wealth of local production.

Agronomist Adler Lafleur, Director of the DDASE (Department of Agriculture, Food and Environment), stated that the diverse exhibitions are sure to captivate visitors and the many participants who will be attending.

The program includes a rich variety of agricultural products, delicious local specialties, and iconic Creole dishes. Over the two days, visitors will also have the opportunity to discover craft stalls and explore numerous handmade treasures, showcasing the skill and creativity of Haitian producers and artisans.

Underlining the national scope of the event and the interest it generates, Lafleur affirmed that this Fair is a true explosion of color, flavor, and expertise, offering an ideal setting for the whole family.

He warmly invited the public of Jacmel, and those from other cities across the country, to come and celebrate the richness of Haitian culture, to encourage local artisans and producers, and to actively participate in promoting national production, a true driver of development, prosperity, and food security for the nation.
