In accordance with the Ministry of Defense's 2026-2027 Action Plan, one of whose three priority objectives focuses on strengthening the operational capabilities and military resources of the Armed Forces of Haiti (FAd'H), Minister of Defense Mario Andrésol continues to explore ways to recruit and train thousands of new soldiers locally each year.

After conducting a series of field visits last month in the West and Central departments to revitalize rehabilitation projects at certain military bases intended to serve, among other things, as training centers for the Haitian army, the Minister of Defense visited the Malpasse and Marion military bases on Saturday, May 2nd. These visits had a dual purpose : first, to assess the material resources necessary for organizing the recruitment and training of new soldiers on a decentralized territorial basis; On the other hand, exploring strategic border areas, destined to become priority defense zones as well as hubs for building trust and strategic cross-border partnerships.
