Diaspora France : «Getting to Know Haiti Better Through Its Geography»

The Embassy of Haiti in France recently officially launched a series of events entitled "Getting to Know Haiti Better Through Its Geography". This innovative project, carried out in partnership with the Association for Geographic Information in Haiti (AIGéoH), was held in the presence of several dozen guests, including the President of the Circle of French Elected Officials of Haitian Origin, friends of Haiti, and representatives of the diaspora.

This initiative aimed to promote in-depth knowledge of Haitian territory among investors, public institutions, and associations. Through a visual and educational presentation of geographic data, representatives of AIGéoH, including Professor Jean-Marie Théodat, highlighted the specific characteristics of the Southern Department, showcasing its agricultural, economic, cultural, and tourism potential, while also addressing environmental realities.

In his address, the Ambassador of Haiti to France, Louino Volcy, announced that the "Getting to Know Haiti Better Through Its Geography" initiative will highlight the country's departments, their resources and unique characteristics, and above all, the concrete opportunities they offer.

This initiative, which will showcase Haiti's ten departments, aligns with the overall objective of promoting the country's strengths and potential within France. This initial experience has demonstrated a strong public interest in gaining a better understanding of the national territory's diversity.

The Embassy is delighted with the success and will continue to keep the community informed about upcoming events in this thematic series.
