On Monday, May 11, 2026, the Maurice A. Sixto Foundation officially launched the "Rebirth Through Art" project, an initiative supported by UNESCO through the Heritage Emergency Fund, designed to assist populations affected by the crisis in Haiti.

Running from May 12 to June 20, 2026, the project will offer workshops in forum theatre, dance, bottle painting, and psychosocial support for internally displaced youth living in a context marked by violence and trauma related to forced displacement.

Through art, this initiative aims to provide young people with a space for expression, personal reconstruction, and social reconnection. In a country where many young people now live in uncertainty, culture remains an essential tool for restoring confidence, rebuilding human connections, and opening up new horizons.

The launch ceremony, held at the Ayiti Tchaka Danse center in Bourdon, brought together project leaders, UNESCO representatives, trainers, and several guests, all united by a shared commitment: to empower young people to transform their traumas into creative expression and collective hope.
