During the discussions, Minister Paulemon stressed that her administration will work tirelessly to mobilize the necessary means to reduce risks and avoid further difficulties for families likely to be affected by possible violent weather. For his part, Frantz Bastien, the Director of Public Investments, presented the main public investment projects linked to Civil Protection as well as the work planned to ensure the availability of materials, equipment and supplies that the country could need in the event of hurricanes or other major climatic phenomena. He also insisted on the importance of effective coordination of resources, in order to guarantee a rapid and adapted response to possible emergencies. Emmanuel Pierre, Director General of Civil Protection, welcomed this working session as well as the dynamism displayed by the two institutions as part of the preparations undertaken. He pleaded in favor of strengthening collaboration between the MPCE and the DGPC, in order to allow the country to be better prepared to face the challenges of the coming season. At the end of this working session, the parties agreed to continue technical exchanges through the organization of new meetings intended to deepen discussions and finalize the various coordination and intervention mechanisms envisaged.
