Jean Henri Petit, the Departmental Director for the North, launched a week-long training session for about ten participants, including new brigadiers and firefighters from the department.

This activity is part of the PHÉNIX project, implemented by the General Directorate of Civic Protection with Expertise France and funded by the French Development Agency (AFD). It aims to strengthen the capacities of emergency responders, improve the coordination of interventions, and harmonize practices in the field.

Civil Protection brigadiers, the first point of contact for communities, play a central role in alerting, preventing, and raising awareness among the population. This training helps to enhance their effectiveness and improve the quality and speed of emergency responses.

The PHÉNIX project thus contributes to the professionalization of the emergency response system and the strengthening of community resilience, with plans to expand it to other departments, particularly in the Grand Sud region.
