Security : Mario Andrésol and Vladimir Paraison received a visit from a Brazilian delegation 22/05/2026 09:05:39
On Wednesday, May 20, Mario Andrésol, the Minister of Defense, received a visit from a delegation of the Brazilian government led by the Brazilian Ambassador to Haiti, Luís Guilherme Nascentes da Silva. These discussions, which lasted nearly two hours, allowed both parties to explore the priority areas of a cooperation project in the military and defense sectors. Referring to the Ministry's 2026-2027 Action Plan, approved by the Prime Minister last March, Andrésol expressed his commitment to strengthening the operational capabilities of the Haitian Armed Forces (FAd'H) through an increase in military personnel, improved command quality, and enhanced military resources and logistics. At the end of the meeting, the two partners agreed to structure the cooperation framework between Haiti and Brazil around, in particular, the training of non-commissioned officers, officers, and staff personnel. On the same day, Vladimir Paraison, Acting Director General of the Haitian National Police, received a Brazilian delegation led by Luis Guilherme Nascentes Da Silva, Ambassador of Brazil to Haiti, and composed of Cristiano Barbosa Sampaio, Anderson de Azevedo de Jesus, and Bruno Louis Guerard, all three from the Federal Police, as well as Eduardo de São Paulo from the Brazilian Cooperation Agency and Alland Désir from the Embassy of Brazil in Haiti. This meeting was part of efforts to strengthen cooperation between the Haitian National Police and the Brazilian Federal Police. Discussions focused on examining the PNH's priority needs for establishing sustainable and effective cooperation, and on leveraging the Brazilian Police's experience and expertise for the benefit of the Haitian police force.
