iciHaiti - PNH : Launch of a campaign to promote the integration of women within the institution

As part of efforts to strengthen the rule of law in Haiti, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the European Union (EU) are supporting the Haitian National Police (PNH) in implementing an awareness campaign aimed at promoting the integration of professional women within the institution and contributing to enhancing its image.

The official launch of this initiative comes at a time marked by the proliferation of often biased, even distorted, content circulating on social media, particularly from criminal groups or uninformed sources, which does not reflect the reality of the work carried out daily by the PNH.

Through this initiative, the PNH intends to :

• Showcase the diversity of professions and expertise within the institution;

• Recognize the value of the professionals and knowledge workers committed to serving the public;

• Encourage qualified women from various sectors to join the PNH;

• Strengthen trust between the police and citizens.

The ceremony took place in the presence of several high-ranking Haitian National Police (PNH) officials, including Inspector General Jean Gardy Muscadin, representing Commander André Jonas Vladimir Paraison, and Inspector General Marie Elva Sinora Nassar, representing Chief Inspector General Frédéric Leconte. Representatives from the UNDP and the European Union also participated, notably Ms. Djenanne Feliz-Désir and the EU Chargé d'Affaires, Johan Eidman.
