On Sunday, May 24, 2026, at Lansdowne Park in Ottawa, as part of the North American tour of the original FIFA 2026 World Cup trophy, Françoise Suzan, Chargé d’affaires of the Embassy of Haiti in Canada, accompanied by Florian Placide, an embassy staff member, participated in an event organized by Global Affairs Canada and the Canadian Federal Secretariat of FIFA 2026.

This was an opportunity for the heads of mission present to admire the prestigious trophy up close, a universal symbol of unity, sporting excellence, and fraternity among peoples.

It should be noted that this international tour of the original FIFA trophy has visited several Canadian cities (Vancouver, Montreal: at Saputo Stadium, Halifax, Ottawa, Calgary, Winnipeg).

The tour will continue in Mexico and the United States in preparation for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will take place from June 11 to July 19, 2026.
