The Prime Minister visits the future specialized judicial centers in Haiti

Keen to create a secure environment conducive to holding inclusive, free, and transparent general elections, Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé visited the site where preparations are underway for the inauguration, scheduled for Wednesday, May 27, 2026, of the offices of the specialized judicial units.

Accompanied by Patrick Pélissier, Minister of Justice and Public Security, and Bernard Saint-Vil, Dean of the Port-au-Prince Court of First Instance, the Prime Minister reiterated that these units will be responsible for prosecuting crimes committed by armed gangs, financial crimes, and electoral fraud, in order to prevent any illicit financing.

Fils-Aimé reaffirmed that the State will not cede any part of its territory to armed gangs. He also declared, "We will fight against money laundering, and we will not let dirty money enter the ballot boxes."

To this end, the specialized financial crimes unit will ensure that the electoral process is not used to launder assets derived from illegal activities.
