Construction projects accelerate in Petit Goâve and Léogâne following the Minister's visit

Following last week's assessment and follow-up visit to Petit-Goâve by engineer Joseph Almathe Pierre Louis, Minister of Public Works, the Minister's instructions are already bearing fruit on the ground. Technical teams and contracting companies are demonstrating renewed determination, intensifying their efforts to restore traffic flow and secure key infrastructure.

At the La Digue River, considered a strategic point for protecting surrounding communities, riverbed calibration operations are actively continuing. This initial phase aims to regulate the watercourse and reduce the risk of flooding, pending the implementation of the next stages of intervention.

Meanwhile, significant progress is being made on National Route #2, including alluvial and mechanical clearing work. The teams mobilized have already cleared more than 220 cubic meters of debris and silt carried by the floodwaters, allowing for the gradual restoration of full traffic capacity on this road.

Another major development is taking place in Léogâne, where users of the national highway will soon be able to travel in better conditions. At the "Route Neuve" bridge, the work is entering its final phase, as the application of the asphalt surface is now almost complete.
