The Nippes Health Directorate (DSNI) has launched a large-scale operation to supply medical and pharmaceutical equipment to the department's health institutions, in response to the needs expressed by various healthcare facilities.

Following an initial phase at Sainte-Thérèse Hospital in Miragoâne, the operation is gradually expanding to several municipalities in the department.

On Wednesday, May 27, 2026, the health facilities in Paillant, Anse-à-Veau, and Petit-Trou-de-Nippes received supplies, medical and pharmaceutical equipment.

The operation will continue this Thursday and Friday in other municipalities, including L’Asile, Honoré, Grand Boucan, Plaisance, and Baradères.

Through this initiative, the DSNI aims to strengthen the capacity of healthcare facilities to ensure better patient care, particularly for the most vulnerable, and to guarantee more equitable access to healthcare in the department.

This initiative aligns with the guidelines of the Ministry of Public Health, which prioritizes strengthening the healthcare system as a national priority.

Dr. Esther Ceus Dumont, Departmental Director, calls for the rigorous and rational use of the medical and pharmaceutical supplies and equipment provided. She also emphasizes the need for recipient institutions to submit regular reports on their use, given their strategic importance and high cost.

The DSNI thus reaffirms its commitment to sustainably improving healthcare services for the benefit of the entire population of Nippes.
