Wednesday May 27, 2026, at the University of Peace Hospital, located in Delmas 33, the Ministry of Women's Affairs accompanied Madame Schlaidenstine Desroches, a young mother who gave birth to triplets (two girls and a boy) following a cesarean delivery.

After leaving the hospital, Ms. Desroches was welcomed with her newborns to the OFAVA accommodation center by social worker Love Marie Bedjine Basquin, in order to offer her a secure space, appropriate support as well as overall care.

In this dynamic of solidarity, Pedrica Saint Jean, the Minister of Women's Affairs also provided financial support of 25,000 gourdes to the mother of the newborns in order to contribute to the immediate care of the children during the first week.

Through this intervention, the Ministry reaffirms its commitment to the protection, support and dignity of women, particularly those facing vulnerable situations.
