On Thursday, May 28, 2026, the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP) held another working session with members of the Electoral Security Unit.

Chaired by Jacques Desrosiers, and attended by other members of the Council and the Executive Director, this session brought together representatives from the Gang Repression Force (FRG), the Haitian National Police (PNH), the Ministry of Justice and Public Security (MJSP), the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), and the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS).

This working session was part of the preparations for the upcoming elections in Haiti.

Discussions focused primarily on establishing a security framework to allow the CEP to proceed with the electoral operations.

This framework must include, in particular :

- Securing the transport of sensitive and non-sensitive electoral materials;

- The protection of personnel involved in organizing the elections;

- Ensuring the safety of voters and candidates during the election campaign and on election day.
