Haiti at the 114th session of the International Labour Conference, Geneva

The Minister of Social Affairs and Labour, Marc-Elie Nelson, departed the country at the head of a tripartite delegation (Government, Employers, Workers) bound for Geneva, Switzerland, to participate in the 114th session of the International Labour Conference, organized by the International Labour Organization (ILO) from June 1st to 12, 2026.

The Conference will take place at the ILO headquarters, the Palais des Nations, and the Geneva International Conference Centre (CICG). This year's conference agenda includes several key items, among them the promotion of gender equality in the workplace and social dialogue. The withdrawal of Convention No. 83 concerning labour standards in non-metropolitan territories is also scheduled for consideration.

This will be an opportunity for Minister Nelson, who will speak at the podium on June 2nd, to address, among other things, the challenges facing the employment sector in Haiti, the Government's concrete actions to preserve jobs and improve working conditions, as well as the prospects for promoting decent work, social dialogue, and gender equality in the workplace.
