Nippes : Launch of the surgical caravan is a success

Nippes : Launch of the surgical caravan is a success

The surgical caravan organized by the Ministry of Public Health and Population (MSPP) has successfully launched at Sainte-Thérèse Hospital in Miragoâne https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-47640-miragoane-prepares-to-host-a-large-free-surgical-caravan.html .

This important initiative aligns with the vision of Dr. Bertrand Sinal, Minister of Public Health, to bring specialized services closer to communities and facilitate access to care for the most vulnerable. This caravan has already enabled many patients in the Nippes department to benefit from free specialized surgical procedures.

According to initial data, approximately twenty patients have already undergone surgery during the first few days of the caravan. The services provided include treatments for hernias, hydroceles, fibroids, bladder stones, cesarean sections, hysterectomies, circumcisions, and other conditions requiring specialized intervention.

To make this initiative possible, mobile clinics and specialized consultations were conducted in several healthcare facilities in the department, including the Jules Fleury Hospital in Anse-à-Veau, the HCR in Asile, and other healthcare facilities in Nippes. These activities allowed for the identification, assessment, and preparation of patients requiring surgical procedures.

The success of this initial phase also relies on the mobilization of local medical teams, specialists from the central government, the Cuban medical brigade, and staff from the various healthcare institutions in the department. Their commitment and professionalism ensured that the procedures could begin under optimal conditions for the benefit of the population.
