ENP : Laying of the foundation stone for the women's dormitory in Haiti

On Thursday, June 18, 2026, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP Haiti) accompanied the Haitian National Police (PNH) to the groundbreaking ceremony for a future dormitory for female trainees at the National Police Academy (ENP).

The ceremony took place in the presence of Inspector General Jacques Joël Orival (Representing the Director General of the PNH), Xavier Michon, UNDP Resident Representative, Ms. Hélène Roos, Ambassador of the European Union, and the Ambassador of Canada to Haiti, André François Giroux.

The construction of this new dormitory aims to significantly improve the living conditions of the female police trainees by providing them with modern, comfortable, and functional spaces, promoting their well-being, development, and success throughout their training.

This new dormitory will have sixteen (16) rooms, with a capacity to accommodate up to 160 female police trainees. It will also be equipped with a modern sanitary block, enhanced security measures, and sustainable energy, water, and sanitation solutions.

Beyond the infrastructure, this investment contributes to strengthening the training capacity of the National Police Academy (ENP) and supports the modernization and professionalization efforts of the police force. This initiative benefits from the technical support of the UNDP, thanks to financial support from Canada and the European Union.
