Humanitarian : PAHO/WHO Annual Report 2025 in Haiti

In 2025, Haiti faced a humanitarian, health, and security crisis of unprecedented scale. Throughout this period, the Pan American Health Organization/World Health Organization (PAHO/WHO) team supported the Ministry of Public Health in its emergency response, while continuing its structural support to maintain and expand access to essential health services.

PAHO/WHO supported the emergency healthcare of more than 34,000 patients, delivered over 280 tons of medicines and medical supplies through the Essential Medicines Program (PROMESS), strengthened disease surveillance in 114 sites hosting displaced populations, and provided psychosocial support to 23,000 people affected by the crisis during 2025.

The Organization also supported the vaccination of more than 55,000 children and pregnant women, screened more than 22,000 children suffering from acute malnutrition, and helped expand access to life-saving health services for the most vulnerable communities across the country.

The Country Office’s 2025 Annual Report reflects our continued commitment to working alongside Haitian authorities and communities, as well as our dedication to sustainably strengthening the health system despite an increasingly complex context.

In 2026, PAHO/WHO will continue these efforts with a clear priority : consolidating achievements, expanding access to health services, and ensuring the protection of the most vulnerable populations.
