PNH : Seminar on the planning and security of major events

Last week, the Haitian National Police (PNH) officially launched a training seminar organized by FRANCOPOL and funded by the International Organisation of the Francophonie (OIF). This training focused on the planning, organization, and security of major events in Haiti, particularly elections, as well as the protection of high-ranking national and international figures.

Held in the conference room of the PNH General Directorate, the seminar was led by French experts specializing in these areas, who shared their expertise and experience with participants to strengthen their strategic and operational capabilities. Scheduled to last ten days, the seminar brought together several PNH officers to discuss key topics, including public order management, the protection of officials, the security of electoral processes, and the security arrangements for various major events held throughout the country.

The opening ceremony was presided over, on behalf of the Acting Director General of the Haitian National Police (PNH), by the Chief of Staff, Inspector General Mario Auberjiste, and Inspector General Gregory Frely, Internal Security Attaché at the French Embassy. The Chief of Staff to the Director General of the PNH emphasized the importance of this training in strengthening the strategic and operational capacities of the institution's officers. He stressed the need to better prepare them for managing large-scale events, which require rigorous planning and effective coordination of security arrangements.
