As part of the 2026 Project to Improve Rice Production in Haiti, implemented by the Taiwan Technical Mission (Republic of China), the first rice and seed production campaign in the South Department has been gradually entering the harvest season since June.

For this occasion, the project selected the Warf-Massé Farmers and Livestock Breeders Association (ASPEWM), located in Les Cayes, from among its many partner agricultural associations, to host a field demonstration day due to its excellent performance.

The event brought together 65 representatives from 14 farmers' associations supported by the project. Participants were able to visit the demonstration plots, observe the results obtained, and interact directly with agricultural extension agents, who answered their questions on soil preparation, irrigation techniques, weed control, and crop management.

The Taiwan Technical Mission believes that the best way to disseminate good agricultural practices is to enable farmers to learn from one another. By discovering success stories and sharing their field experiences, producers realize that better yields are truly within their reach when they apply appropriate agricultural techniques.
