State Exams : Haiti's Minister of Education satisfied with how the first day went

On Monday, June 29, 2026, Vijonet Déméro, the Minister of National Education, accompanied by his Director General, Osny Jean Marie, conducted a supervisory visit to the Horatius Laventure High School examination center (Delmas 75), which was hosting 350 candidates in the 9th grade.

The 9th Fundamental year exams began as scheduled across the country. Candidates took exams in Creole Communication and Physical Education.

Following his visit, Minister Déméro gave a positive assessment of the first day of the official exams. He gave assurances that everything would be done to ensure the success of this operation, which also concerns the Family Education Centers (CEF) and the Teacher Training College for Kindergarten Teachers (ENIJE) https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-47860-haiti-education-d-2-state-exams-2026-9th-afaf-cef-enije-statistics-and-instructions.html

"I commend all the partners and educational stakeholders who enabled us to successfully complete this school year. I especially thank the National School Feeding Program (PNCS), which provided hot meals to candidates in some examination centers in the Port-au-Prince metropolitan area, the Central Highlands, and the Artibonite region. This meal distribution, funded by the National Education Fund (FNE), should expand starting this Tuesday," concluded the visibly pleased Minister.

Osny Jean Marie also expressed satisfaction with the start of the exams, mentioning a few minor difficulties encountered at the beginning of the day, which were quickly resolved.

He took the opportunity to congratulate all the Ministry staff and those from partner institutions who were involved in organizing the official exams nationwide. Furthermore, he welcomed the candidates' response, confirming that the initial exam questions were accessible and therefore perfectly aligned with the curriculum.

It should be noted that during this visit, in addition to the Director General of the Ministry, the Minister was accompanied by his Chief of Staff, Woodly Simon, the West Departmental Director of Education (DDE-O), Etienne Louisseul France, the Director of Basic Education, Kendy Nicolas, the Coordinator of the DDEs, Jean Ernest Clergé, and the General Coordinator of the PNCS, Lucson Philémon.
