Mexico : Donation of 200 puncture-proof football balls to Haiti

On Thursday, July 2nd, 2026, the Mexican Embassy in Haiti donated 200 puncture-proof football balls, provided by the Jorge Vergara Foundation, to the Viva Río Haiti organization in Port-au-Prince and the Matana organization in Cap-Haitien, for distribution to vulnerable youth in these two cities.

Mexico reaffirms its belief that cooperation transforms realities when it directly benefits new generations. "Today’s girls, boys, and teenagers will be the ones to continue building the bonds of friendship, solidarity, and understanding between Mexico and Haiti. Investing in their well-being, education, and development also means strengthening the foundations of a bilateral relationship that, for nearly two centuries, has been based on shared values of fraternity and cooperation."

The Embassy of Mexico expresses its sincere gratitude to the Jorge Vergara Foundation for its generous donation, as well as to the Directorate General of Sports Diplomacy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for making the transport of this sports equipment to Haiti possible. This initiative reflects a shared commitment to using sport as a tool for social transformation and bringing people together.
