8,338 candidates are taking part in the INFP exams (2026) 10/07/2026 10:04:48
The National Institute for Vocational Training (INFP), a regional branch of the Ministry of National Education, is organizing the examinations for technical and vocational centers. These exams are being held over two periods from July 6 to 10 for the provinces and from July 20 to 31 for the Port-au-Prince metropolitan area. 8,338 candidates, including 2,473 from the West Department, are participating. The INFP is focusing on three sectors : 2,485 candidates will be assessed in the commercial sector (services and banking), 2,875 candidates in the industrial and agricultural sector, and 2,978 candidates in the hospitality and clothing sector. Depending on the level of training, candidates who pass these exams will be awarded either the Vocational Aptitude Certificate (CAP), the Vocational Aptitude Diploma (BAP), or the Technical Diploma (DT). Nationally, there are 1,574 candidates for the CAP (Certificate of Professional Aptitude), 5,229 for the BAP (Vocational Aptitude Certificate), and 1,135 for the DT (Technical Diploma). A total of 89 technical and vocational training centers are participating in these exams. Thirty-three are located in 10 communes in the West Department. The other 56 are spread across 22 communes in the Artibonite, Centre, Grand'Anse, Nippes, North, Northeast, Northwest, South, and Southeast Departments (excluding the Northeast). Vocational training is much more than simply a way to learn a trade : it is a strategic lever for a nation's sustainable development. Vijonet Déméro, the Minister of National Education, is convinced that by investing in this type of training, the country strengthens its competitiveness, promotes social integration, stimulates entrepreneurship, and creates the conditions for inclusive growth.
