The Economic and Social Assistance Fund (FAES) and the Ministry of Public Health and Population (MSPP) have officially launched the construction of the future blood transfusion center (PTS), which will be located at La Paix University Hospital (HUP). This new facility will collect, store, and distribute blood and its vital components to patients.

While HUP is the primary beneficiary of this facility, all healthcare facilities in the Delmas area and surrounding regions will also have access to safe and reliable blood products.

The construction and installation of the associated equipment are expected to be completed within four months. This project is being carried out by the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) / ​​World Health Organization (WHO), in close collaboration and under the supervision of the MSPP and HUP.

This project is part of the Resilience Building Program through a Safety Net (HA-J0007), implemented by the Economic and Social Assistance Fund (FAES) and financed by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB).
