The Prime Minister, Alix Didier Fils-Aimé, received the writer Dany Laferrière, member of the French Academy, during a meeting focused on culture, the transmission of knowledge and the influence of Haiti.

The Head of Government praised the exceptional career of the writer, whose work, deeply rooted in human experience, has contributed for several decades to promoting a Haiti that is creative, universal and faithful to its intellectual heritage. He stressed that this international recognition honors not only Laferrière, but also the creative genius of the Haitian people.

In an atmosphere of high intellectual quality, marked by listening and reflection, the discussions brought together members of the State University of Haiti, whose Prime Minister praised the constant commitment to training, research and the transmission of knowledge. The discussions highlighted the fundamental role of culture, universities and intellectuals in the consolidation of national memory, the awakening of youth and the sustainable reconstruction of the country.

Fils-Aimé reaffirmed the Government's desire to strengthen bridges between the State, academia, cultural actors and the diaspora, in order to make knowledge, creation and cultural diplomacy pillars of Haiti's development and influence.

Closing this meeting, he expressed his deep gratitude to Dany Laferrière for her unwavering attachment to Haiti and for her remarkable contribution to the country's prestige on the international scene.
