Kenscoff : At least 61 people killed, including 14 children

UN Spokesperson Stéphane Dujarric stated that he had been informed by human rights organizations of a series of attacks in Kenscoff between July 4 and 9, 2026, which killed at least 61 residents, including 14 children.

The victims were killed while trying to flee, inside their homes, or after encountering gang members on roads and sidewalks. "The violence was concentrated in the community of Robin, where the majority of the victims were recorded," Dujarric said.

He specified that at least 5,840 people had been forced to flee and that homes and telecommunications infrastructure had been completely destroyed by fire.

"Although the last documented attack was on July 9, the situation remains tense, with gang members maintaining a presence in Kenscoff," Dujarric added.
