MODEBEVI : New locally sourced white rice packaged in small formats 04/08/2026 10:30:31
The peasant organization Mouvement de Développement pour une Belle Vie (MODEBEVI), supported by the International Cultural Development Fund (ICDF) in Taiwan and the American organization Food For The Poor (FFTP), has launched its new locally grown white rice packaged in smaller sizes. The product was presented to the public for the first time at the Bouyon Kiltirèl 2026 agricultural fair and sale, held in Camp-Perrin, in Haiti's Southern Department, where it received a very warm welcome. Previously, MODEBEVI primarily sold white rice and parboiled rice in large 12.5 kg and 25 kg packages, products already highly valued by consumers for their quality. To better meet the needs of individuals and small families, the organization now offers its locally grown white rice under the brand name Premye Ran, in convenient 5-pound and 10-pound packages. During the exhibition, several visitors expressed their surprise and enthusiasm. "We didn’t know our southern department could produce such high-quality white rice. I want to buy a package to try it !" This recognition testifies to the efforts of Haitian producers and demonstrates that, with the support of Taiwan and its partners, the quality and competitiveness of locally grown Haitian rice continue to improve. In the future, MODEBEVI’s Premye Ran white rice will be available in several supermarkets and stores so that more families can discover it. IH/ iciHaiti
