Voter registration : Haiti's Prime Minister sets the example

On Tuesday, August 4th, 2026, during the launch of voter registration by the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP) in all departments of the country, Haiti's Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé visited the Pétion-ville High School Registration and Voting Center to register on the electoral roll for the elections scheduled for next December. https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-48085-haiti-flash-2026-2027-electoral-calendar-latest-official-version.html

Through this civic gesture, the Head of Government is calling on all Haitians with a valid National Identification Card to go to the registration centers, whether in Port-au-Prince, provincial cities, or the most remote communities. Registering to vote is a civic duty and the first manifestation of the people's sovereignty.

The Government reaffirms its full commitment to supporting the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP) in fulfilling its constitutional mission, in order to guarantee a free, inclusive, transparent, and credible electoral process, while respecting the institution's independence and democratic principles.

"By responding massively to this call, every citizen will contribute to writing a new chapter in the nation's democratic life, a chapter filled with hope, stability, and confidence in Haiti's future."
