Grand'Anse : The Minister of Public Works assesses strategic infrastructure in Dame-Marie

Engineer Joseph Almathe Pierre Louis, Minister of Public Works, conducted a site visit and assessment tour in the commune of Dame-Marie (Grand'Anse Department).

This tour of the Grand south region aimed to establish a precise inventory of road infrastructure in order to provide concrete solutions to local emergencies and ensure smoother traffic flow as the election period approaches.

Accompanied by the Departmental Director and local authorities, the Minister visited several key locations in the commune to directly observe the level of deterioration of the crossing and protective structures.

The delegation first inspected the bridge at the entrance to the town, a crucial structure for opening up the commune and its connections to other departments, with a view to quickly planning the necessary reinforcement work. The visit continued in the town of Rousselin to assess the constraints on the road infrastructure serving the area, before moving on to the coastal road where heavy swells and erosion have severely damaged the seawall, exposing riverside homes and the road along the sea to a direct risk of flooding.

This exploratory visit allowed the Minister to gauge the extent of the emergencies and to directly hear the concerns of administrative authorities and residents.

On this occasion, he assured the residents of Damarin that the Government remains constantly attentive to the needs of all regions of the country, without distinction.

In conclusion, this tour constitutes a first step aimed at assessing the needs. Minister Pierre Louis reiterated the Government's commitment to addressing the community's situation with the utmost attention and to initiating priority interventions soon.
