On Wednesday, August 12, 2026, as part of the government's major campaign to encourage all eligible citizens to register to vote within the established deadlines, Ministers Stéphanie Smith (Tourism), Kathia Verdier (Diaspora), and Valery Fils Aimé (Environment) visited the Pétion-ville High School to register on the electoral list.

"We encourage all Haitians who meet the requirements not to stay home and to register now. Every vote counts. Every citizen has an important role to play in building a strong, more democratic Haiti that offers a better future for all its children.
