On Friday, August 14, 2026, Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé, accompanied by Vijonet Déméro, Minister of National Education, inaugurated the renovated Mersan Primary School and Pedagogical Support Center (EFACAP) in Camp-Perrin.

The ceremony took place in the presence of members of the government delegation, Ms. Fénicile Massius, Mayor of Camp-Perrin, educational and political authorities, and representatives of civil society.

Beyond the inauguration of a school infrastructure, this initiative demonstrated a strong conviction "Investing in education is investing in Haiti's future." It also reflects the government's commitment to bringing public services closer to communities and providing children and young people with better conditions to learn, grow, and build their future.

In his address, Minister Déméro emphasized the essential role played by EFACAP in Mersan within the Camp-Perrin educational community. The institution oversees 23 national schools as well as several private institutions and provides continuing professional development for teachers in the region, thus contributing to improving the quality of education and strengthening the capacity of educational staff.

For his part, Fils-Aimé reaffirmed his government's commitment to ensuring better access to education for children and young people in all ten departments of the country.

"Haiti's future depends on investment in education," he stated, adding that every renovated school, every trained teacher, and every child who receives a quality education represents a step toward building a stronger, more just, and more prosperous Haiti.

In this same vein, the Prime Minister appealed to Haitian youth, urging them to fully participate in civic life and register to vote in order to actively contribute to the process of restoring constitutional order. "The future of the country is not built solely in classrooms; it is also built through the commitment of every citizen."
